Welcome!

My name is Victoria Walters and I am the founder of Healthy You Healthy Planet, a new enterprise focused on creating a ‘healthy you, healthy planet’. Our goal, in a nutshell, is to promote physical and mental well-being while caring for, and nurturing, our planet.

First of all, a few words about me. My background is in teaching and I have spent over 20 years as a primary school and special needs teacher and the last 3 years as a dyslexia teacher, mainly working in Norfolk.  However, my interests encompass a much broader spectrum of issues. And now I feel it’s time to spread my wings to embrace all my passions, such as ethical living, making sustainable choices and respecting all life – especially the rights of animals.

This holistic approach is the bedrock of Healthy You Healthy Planet, and we use it to foster health in both mind and body. It’s no secret that one of the main causes of physical and mental ill-health is stress. Many studies have shown that excessive stress can lead to heart disease, stroke or high blood pressure. And, if high stress levels persist, mental health suffers.

Our stress management workshops look at the causes, the beliefs and the lifestyle choices that lead to anxiety and give you the techniques to deal with them. For more information about our stress management workshops, please go to Services to Schools

Positive thinking, breathing and relaxation are important, but we mustn’t forget the huge role that a healthy diet and exercise play in combating stress. We offer plant-based lifestyle workshops, highlighting all the good things we get from plants and how to use them to make healthy vegan meals. We can’t have a healthy planet without well-balanced children – they really are our future. Our goal is to create calm, confident children, whatever their background or challenges. As a certified Relax Kids coach, I can offer classes both in school or as an after-school club. These can also be run one-to-one or for small special needs groups. All our work can be carried out with children, adults, parents and staff, either one-to-one or in groups. As part of our holistic ethos, our approach is person or child-centred. We are based in Norwich but are happy to take our workshops and events into neighbouring counties.

So, join us on this journey to create a healthy you, healthy planet. As individuals, we may not be able to save the planet single-handedly, but together we can make a start.

Stress Management Workshops

Our practical workshops begin by explaining the biological reasons for stress and the physiological effects triggered by the fight or flight instinct.

We look at the symptoms of stress – you might be surprised at some of them. We examine the many ways, expected and unexpected, that stress affects people, both physically and mentally.

We break things down into sections of work (or school) relationships, diet, lifestyle, thoughts and beliefs.

We also add in some short and long relaxation skills: quick techniques for when you have only five minutes to spare, and longer methods for when you have more time to yourself.

Living without Dairy

This is an interactive workshop covering the now vast range of non dairy milks and cheeses that can be found on the supermarket and health food shop shelves

The workshop is designed to be both fun and educational, so you will go away knowing what the pros and cons of the choices are, which suit your individual needs – and most importantly which you prefer the taste of.

The workshop includes tasting activities, trialling  a range of milks  and cheeses and include recipes for making your own.

Plant-based Lifestyle Workshops

This is an interactive workshop celebrating all the benefits plants bring to our lives and how invaluable they are to the planet.

We cover where they grow and look at land used for rainforest and for animal agriculture.

The workshop ends with a simple plant-based cookery activity using ingredients that may be unfamiliar or that you may not have tried before.

Relax Kids Classes

As a certified Relax Kids coach, we can offer classes to help create happy, calm, confident children. We have a selection of classes suitable for children aged from three to 11, which can take place in school or as an after-school club. For more details, go to Relax Kids page.

Sustainability Talks

A final word on one of the most important issues facing us today, keeping our planet alive. We may work hard to improve our lives, but we need to change our attitudes and behaviour if we want a brighter future for generations to come.

We can offer talks on ethical living, sustainable choices and animal rights. Please do get in touch if you think your students would be interested in these topics. We can also talk to groups outside the school environment.
